Selishten Dol

The village of Selishten dol is located in southwestern Bulgaria, 17 km from the town of Radomir, 18 km from the town of Pernik and 45 km from the Bulgarian capital – Sofia.
The village of Selishten dol belongs to Pernik municipality, Pernik district.The Pernik municipality and district include the following settlements: the town of Pernik, the small town of Batanovtsi, three big villages – Divotino, Dragichevo, Studena, five smaller villages – Kladnitsa, Lylin, Meshitsa, Rudartsi, Iardjilovtsi, seven hamlets – Bogdanov dol, Bosnek, Vitanovtsi, Golemo buchino, Kralev dol, Rosnik, Cherna gora, and seven smaller hamlets - Viskyar, Zidartsi, Leskovets, Planinitsa, Radui, Selishten dol, Chuipetlevo. The Pernik municipality comprises the Perniska hollow at the upper valley of Struma River, part of the national park ‘Vitosha’ and the botanic reserve ‘Ostritsa’. In the regions are built chalets, resort centre with mineral water at the village of Rudartsi and lakes at the villages of Iardjilovtsi, Meshtitsa, Studena and Bosnek.The municipality benefits from its rich natural resources. Near the village of Bosnek is located the Karst spring ‘Jivata voda’ and the longest cave in Bulgaria ‘Duhlata’. The proximity to Vitosha Mountain and the closely located balneological centre ‘Rudartsi’ give excellent opportunities for the future developing of the tourism and ski sports.
‘Verloto’ is a water cave from the Karst region of Bosnek. The ‘Selimitsa’ chalet is located in southeastern slopes of Vitosha Mountain, in Lenishtata range under the Selimitsa top. It is located amid coniferous and broad-leaved woods at 1305 m. above the sea level. At Golo Bardo ridge under Ranchovo gradishte top is located ‘Slavei’ chalet. Near the chalet is located the botanical reserve ‘Ostritsa’ disposed on 600 000 sq. m., where you can admire unique plant life.
